Many industries, such as petrochemical sector, require the use of corrosive products, in other words, substances that can cause injury or environmental damage. Some basic rules are therefore to be observed when working with dangerous products.

Before storing corrosive materials, it is important to inspect containers to ensure they are not damaged, they are properly labeled and they are well protected with aluminum domes, for example. Do not accept delivery of defective containers.

The storage location must also be carefully defined. In general, it is advisable to store corrosive materials separately, away from other materials. If completely separate storage is not possible, it is recommended that corrosive materials be stored in containers with floating roof tank seals.

Finally, climatic conditions are also important. Remember to store corrosive materials in dry places, not exposed to direct sunlight, and away from steam lines, boilers, or other heat sources.
